Founded by Rekha Somavarapu, Starla Jewels started selling certified lab-grown diamond jewellery in Hyderabad in 2022/23 — before it had a store. Every step since has been about proving the model in person, one Hyderabad neighbourhood at a time.
2022–23
Starla Jewels begins selling lab-grown diamond jewellery in Hyderabad without a physical store — building the collection, the supply relationships, and the first customers before opening a single door.
March 2024
The first Starla Jewels flagship store opens on Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad — certified gold and lab-grown diamond jewellery, in person for the first time.
May 2025
Starla Jewels wins Best Speciality Store at the GKW Retail Solutions × VM-RD Retail Design Awards 2025, held in Mumbai.

Founder Rekha Somavarapu receives the Times Power Women 2025 (Telangana) award, presented by The Times of India / Times Internet, recognising her work building Starla Jewels in the lab-grown diamond category.

A second, larger-format Starla Jewels store opens in Gachibowli, Hyderabad — the brand's biggest space yet.

Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Opened March 2024 — the store where Starla Jewels first put its lab-grown diamond collection in front of customers.
Gachibowli — the larger format
Le Meridien Hotel building, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Opened October 2025 as Starla Jewels’ biggest space yet, built on everything the Jubilee Hills store proved.

Starla Jewels runs its stores on the same AI-driven backbone it now offers franchise partners: Infinity, its store-management and ERP system, an integrated point-of-sale, and the Build a Ring platform that lets customers design and order custom jewellery digitally. They are not separate experiments — they are one system, built in-house, so a new Starla franchise owner inherits a store that is already running on modern retail technology rather than starting from spreadsheets.
